Our Genealogical Society has a number of projects planned that will benefit your research. A new file is being set up at the main library for: Santa Rosa County Pioneer Families"These are the families that were here in 1845.
A section is also being established for members of the society that would like to have a file started on their family.
We would like to have people contribute any duplicate documents that they may have that are of genealogical value.
Example:Family history,Pedigree Charts, Old Wills, Wedding anniversaries, Census Printouts, Church Records, Fla. Pioneer Certificate papers,CSA dedications, surname queries,WPA Veteran Cemetery List, old pictures,Biographical Sketches, Old Newspaper articles, area community histories, etc.
The family history files will help researchers to expand on their research as well as helping others.
There is so much time and effort involved that Volunteers are always needed and VERY welcome!

Bill Cleveland, the Santa Rosa Co. Archives director suggested having a publication with cemetery contacts.
His department with the county stays busy with those requests. They were certainly helpful
during one of my trips to the courthouse.
