Thank you very much for providing me the information about the C.H.S. Alumni
Band and Web page.
I to remember Mr. Price very well and had the pleasure of being there when
the Alumni Band took it first step onto the field.
I read Al Mills letter and it reminded me that I too met Mr. Price at
Sulphur Springs Junior High School and started in the band in the third
grade.
I followed Mr. Price to C. H.S. and had the pleasure to be in the class of
1960. I say pleasure because it gave me the opportunity to be with Mr. Price
4 hard but educational years.
I have been very successful in my life, even had lunch with the President of
the United States. I still tell everyone that I have been successful because
of the things that Mr. Price taught me in High School.
He used statements like "you can do it, don't ever quit, you can learn that
solo, you can march 8 to 5."
Of course, Al Mills mentioned, and I will always remember the "shoulder
squeeze."
Again, thanks for taking the time to keep me informed and my check will be
in the mail for the scholarship fund. That's better than selling candy bars.
